Head Coach (Juniors) - Excellent Remuneration! Harrogate, England


Harrogate Hockey Club is looking for a talented, motivated and experienced Head Coach for the Junior section including the role of junior performance coach.


The primary role for the Head Coach would be to deliver coaching sessions for our talented junior section and ensure a smooth transition towards senior hockey in our ladies and mens sections.


The club has a thriving and ever expanding junior section with over 200 U8 - U16 boys and girls. The junior section has been successful over the past few years with 18 teams playing in the Yorkshire league and Cups, representation at national finals and several players representing England at the highest junior level. The club have ambitions to build upon this success and across the whole junior section.


There are fantastic foundations for the right person to help take the club forward and we are looking for a coach who has a philosophy that will match the clubs identity and family ethos of fun and enjoyment whilst also recognising that we want to play engaging competitive hockey and support the promotion of juniors through the club to senior teams. Specifically the role will involve:

Delivering coaching across U10 – U16 age groups for boys and girls.


Oversee the delivery of junior training standards across the whole club. Lead the coaching staff involved in junior hockey, providing help and guidance to other coaches and team managers. Delivery of junior performance sessions throughout the year.


Support the ladies 3/4/5’s coaching session in particular supporting junior players making the transition to senior hockey.


Support the men’s 3/4/5/6’s coaching session in particular supporting junior players making the transition to senior hockey.


Attending junior match days where appropriate Selection for junior teamsProviding player feedback / liaising with parents of junior players where applicable.


Working alongside the Development Group and other coaches in the delivery of the club development planDeliver the new Hockey Heroes initiative as part of England Hockey project.


Helping to develop potential 1st team players and supporting the transition of junior and senior layers throughout the teams.


Our programme runs from Sept to March (approx. 25 weeks) on weekday evenings (Monday - Thursday). It would be important that the successful candidate would be able to start coaching at 5.30pm.We have a strong team of coaches and parent helpers as well as Team Managers.


This will be a paid role and the remuneration package will be dependent on your experience and qualifications and subject to an agreed timetable. Opportunities to develop your coaching qualifications through paid attendance at EH training sessions would be available.


Requirements:

You will need a minimum UK Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent and be eligible to work in the UK (UK/EU passport or valid work permit) and speak a good standard of English. Experience of coaching at a high level and/or senior teams is desirable.
