Match report for 2012 to date
This weekend saw the fourth team pack their flip flops and head off to Bridlington. It felt like ‘we’re all going on a summer holiday’. There was fun and laughter but the sun didn’t shine brightly and the sea didn’t look blue; least not from where we were. However our dreams did come true and an outstanding team performance gained us another 3 points for a 3-2 win; all achieved with very little ‘lifted’ ball!!
Kay Turnball and Hannah Russell stepped up from the fifths and played brilliantly. Nothing was getting past Kay on the right and Hannah scored a well-earned goal. Head of vice for the fourths, Lydia Legs, had a great game in midfield and Birthday Girl Lynn Garne repeatedly stole the ball from oncoming forwards and changed a defensive situation into an attacking one in the blink of an eye!
